This site is dedicated to the creativity, ingenuity, and collaborative spirit of middle grades literacy teachers. Whether you are one English teacher on a team of many or the lone social studies teacher, we know that collaboration makes us all better. Join us as we sharpen our own skills and seek to build a collection of resources designed to help all students! 

​About Us

Dr. Jaime Greene is an assistant principal at Lincoln Heights Middle School in Morristown, Tennessee. She has served as a Common Core Coach for the state of Tennessee and presents at local, regional, and national education events. She is a graduate of Carson-Newman University (B.A.), The University of Tennessee, (M.Ed.), Lincoln Memorial University (Ed.S.), and Carson-Newman University (Ed.D).  

Dr. Derek Voiles is an English and ESL teacher at Lincoln Heights Middle School in Morristown, Tennessee. He has served as a Common Core Coach for the state of Tennessee, a State Collaborative on Reforming Education Fellow, and a member of Commissioner McQueen's Teacher Advisory Council. Derek was selected as the 2017 Tennessee Teacher of the Year. He is a graduate of Carson-Newman University (B.A., M.Ed.), Lincoln Memorial University (Ed.S), and East Tennessee State University (Ed.D).
